A Voice For Those Who Have Experienced the Harm of Abusive Power

I have been on a personal journey of recovery and education of the covert effects of abuse, power & control. Often, we are unable to understand, name and deconstruct what has or is taking place. This site is the result and ongoing process of my 35yr + journey.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

A passion for sharing education and resources

My hope is to share what I’ve learned through my journey in order to give insight and hope for anyone who has also experienced the debilitating harm that results from abusive power and control. Below are some of the topics that will be touched on.

Types of Abuse

Primarily focused on covert emotional abuse and spiritual abuse.

Coercive Control

“The use of psychological force in a coercive way to cause the learning and adoption of an ideology or designated set of beliefs, ideas, attitudes, or behaviors.” Margaret Singer

Cults & High Control Groups

“A group or movement exhibiting great or excessive devotion or dedication to some person, idea or thing, and employing unethical manipulation, coercive techniques of persuasion and control designed to advance the goals of the leaders, to the actual or possible detriment of members, families or..community.” Janja Lalich

Patriarchy

The oppression of women by men through means of political, historical, psychological, financial, sexual, educational, religious and cultural power.

Recovery

Restoring a healthy belief system and sense of self-worth that is affirming and demonstrative of universal equality.

Healthy Woman

“In traditional societies, patriarchy is the governing political principle that organizes economic, public and family life-the single thread that runs through law, custom and religion to join the personal power of the husband over his wife to ruling networks of older, wealthier, more religiously qualified men.”
